The project, carried out in Macaé, aims to develop an environmental interpretation trail to be explored on foot. A key feature is that the trail is designed to be accessible for people with disabilities, particularly those with reduced mobility. The project follows the guidelines of the Trail Planning Fundamentals guide, developed by ICMBio. Along the trail, careful attention is given to signage and support infrastructure. The shelters serve as resting points amidst the intense sun and wind exposure of the restinga. Composed of inclined wooden pillars, their circular shape is inspired by the pattern left in the sand by the leaves of the Juruba (Allagoptera arenaria), a palm tree that lends its name to the park. The rope mesh connecting the pillars supports climbing plants. Thus, in addition to inviting human presence, the shelters facilitate the spontaneous growth of pioneer plant species of the restinga.
