The Pavuna neighborhood, located in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro, is known for its significant vulnerabilities, including limited access to public services and a lack of collective leisure spaces. In this context, Pavuna Park emerges as an important local-scale urban facility, transformative and decisive in mitigating socio-spatial inequality. It provides high-quality areas for sports, leisure, and recreation, serving as a meeting place for families, friends, and neighbors, and reinforcing the creation of outdoor social and gathering spaces. Structured with forms and colors organized into geometric planes and strips, the park creates a dynamic composition within the landscape. The topography and its various plateaus shape the spaces and accommodate diverse uses, such as playgrounds, sports courts, and wet areas. The monument, a central element of the park and visible from a distance due to its scale, evokes slab-mounted showers and features designs inspired by mangroves, symbolically linking the prominence of water to its connection with the park's activities.
