The development of the urban and landscape project for the Igarapé São Joaquim Park represents a significant opportunity to reimagine the Amazonian landscape on the outskirts of the city of Belém do Pará, which has been suffering from anthropization processes. The conversion of the stream into a macrodrainage channel resulted in the loss of its ecological functions and conflicts between biophysical and social systems, such as the flooding of old accommodation spaces. Thus, to face these challenges, effective solutions must be sought to: minimize the impact of rains, ensuring comfort in public spaces; restore ecological efficiency to the area, addressing problems such as flooding, water quality, and silting; and promote biodiversity and local sustainability. Resulting in a space that values the outskirts of Belém and promotes social inclusion, ensuring equitable access to park resources.
