The proposal for Costa Barros Park aims to expand the sports program by utilizing the residual spaces in the immediate vicinity, transforming a currently impassable barrier into a more permeable edge integrated into the urban fabric. The intervention seeks to redevelop the area by creating quality public spaces for leisure, community interaction, and sports activities. Furthermore, it proposes strengthening the existing green infrastructure by planting native tree, shrub, and groundcover species from the Atlantic Forest, thereby expanding ecological connections with the surroundings and other green areas in the region. This strategy also contributes to improved microclimatic conditions, promoting environmental comfort, biodiversity, and enhancing the urban landscape.
