The Recreio Green Corridor project was launched in 2015, in partnership with the Municipal Department of Environment of Rio de Janeiro, covering an area of approximately 2.75 million m². It is structured around three main pillars: preserve, connect, and expand, with the goal of integrating and connecting preserved areas of the Recreio neighborhood through the creation of green corridors along rivers, as well as expanding ecological restoration and green infrastructure interventions in the adjacent urban fabric. The project addresses territorial issues related to the physical, biological, and social environment, building upon interventions already underway in the area. From urban design to fauna and flora management, it seeks to restore and enhance urban ecology, promoting environmental recovery, improving public spaces, and increasing public contact with nature. Among the designed areas, the Sandra Alvim Promenade — a linear open space between buildings — stands out, having been transformed into an expansion arm of the corridor within Recreio. The intervention was realized through the introduction of *restinga* dunes, urban furniture, urban gardens, pergolas, and spaces dedicated to environmental education.
